Position Summary
We are seeking dedicated Certified Medical Assistants with experience or a strong interest in LGBTQIA+ health, HIV prevention and treatment, and gender-affirming care. This role is an exciting opportunity to work closely with patients and healthcare providers while supporting marginalized communities and advancing inclusive healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations, ensuring a welcoming and affirming environment.
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit.
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Perform phlebotomy, administer injections, and collect lab specimens as needed.
- Support HIV/PrEP/PEP services by assisting with screenings, medication administration, and patient education.
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Provide patient education on preventive care, treatment plans, and medication adherence.
- Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to support holistic patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies.
- Participate in ICG Foundation community initiatives, such as free HIV/STI testing events and health education outreach.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) from an accredited program.
- Experience or strong interest in LGBTQIA+ healthcare, HIV prevention and treatment, and gender-affirming care.
- Phlebotomy certification and experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all patients.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
- Strong commitment to health equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
