Fusion - Laser Hair Removal
Fusion Light and Fusion Dark are configured to treat a range of skin tones and hair types. The idea is to deliver laser energy to the hair follicles to reduce or disable them, using tailored wavelengths and cooling technologies to maximize safety and comfort. Fusion Light is optimized for lighter skin tones; Fusion Dark is designed for deeper skin tones or more pigmented skin to reduce risk of adverse effects.
Selective Photothermolysis
The laser emits light energy that is absorbed preferentially by the pigment (melanin) in hair follicles. That energy converts to heat, damaging the follicle structure and inhibiting future hair growth.Adjustable Wavelengths / Dual Modes
To treat different skin/hair types, Fusion uses different laser settings (Light vs Dark) to adapt energy and depth, reducing risks for darker skin types.Cooling & Safety Systems
Fusion systems typically include cooling mechanisms (e.g. contact cooling or chilled tip) to protect the skin surface, reduce discomfort, and lower risk of burns.Multiple Passes & Treatment Sessions
Because hair follicles go through growth cycles (anagen, catagen, telogen), multiple sessions spaced out are needed to catch follicles in the active growth (anagen) phase. Fusion isn’t a one-and-done treatment.

Full consultation: assess skin tone, hair type, medical history, possible contraindications
Avoid sun exposure, tanning, and skin irritation (peels, strong topicals) in the period before treatment
Shave the area 24 hours before (so that hair is in follicle but surface hair is minimal)
Cleanse the skin; apply any cooling gel if required
The operator moves the laser applicator over the treatment zone, delivering pulses of laser energy
Sensation: many patients report feeling a “snap” or mild stinging at each pulse (some liken it to a rubber band snap)
Cooling is activated during or between pulses to mitigate thermal sensation
The duration depends on the area (small areas may take only minutes; large zones may take 30–60 minutes)
Some reduction may be noticed after the first or second session
Most patients require 4 to 8 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart (depending on area, hair density, individual physiology)
Results improve gradually; full effect may take months
Maintenance treatments may be needed annually or semiannually
Mild redness, warmth, possibly slight swelling (“sunburn-like”) may occur for a few hours to a day
Some hair follicles may darken and later shed
Avoid sun exposure, hot baths, harsh topical agents for a few days
Normal activities are usually resumed right away
Hair that is very light, red or gray may not respond well (low pigment to absorb laser)
Thick adipose or deep hair follicles may be harder to treat effectively
Not a replacement for surgical removal in extreme cases of very dense hair
Patient compliance with pre- and post-care is key to safe results
